|
|
| I was bored at work yesterday, and located a York Bronze Sarcophagus, that includes a bronze bust sculpture of the deceased, weighs 1100 Lbs, I suppose it would take the place of the casket and vault, but there was no information on York's website. I found a funeral home in TX that shows it, and one in Northern MI. I haven't been able to locate a price, and the man at the FH in Michigan said he was taking calls from home and didn't have a clue about pricing. Is anybody familiar with this item? |

| It's the York PHARAOH bronze sarcophagus, Ashford and Oliver Mortuary in Navasota TX shows it, along with some other frightfully costly caskets on their website. |

The local FH here switched from Batesville to York a few years ago. Kurt said he never thought that he would see the day when they did not carry Batesville. His selection room is now featured in the York pamphlet that they send out to funeral homes. I thought that was pretty cool when I was comparing the pamphlet with the actual room. _________________ There is no "T" in the word HEARSE!

A good friend of mine actually sold the Sarcophagus. They had to borrow a commercial truck to carry it with b/c their hearse couldn't. _________________ When a child is born we rejoice. When that person is married we jubilate, When they die we act as if nothing happened.

I found some more info about it on Artco's website...the lid weighs almost 300 Lbs and has a hidden hook for picking it up mechanically. They specifically suggest against moving any portion of it by hand. I just keep wondering how in the world you would maneuver that monster around in the building...how would you put the lid on after viewing? You couldn't just prop the lid against the wall and toss it on there, that's for sure.
I can't imagine that they sell many... |
